About the role

Ski Japan Travel is hiring an experienced Rental/Retail Supervisor to run one of its busy NBS rental and retail locations in Niseko, a ski-in ski-out site. You will lead and train the team, set rosters, keep to sales and wage budgets and handle complaints, while fitting equipment, maintaining the fleet on the Easy Rent system and overseeing the retail store. The season runs 24 November 2026 to 10 April 2027, 5 days a week, averaging 35–40 hours in peak season. The hourly rate is set at interview. Responsibilities

  • Set performance goals and deadlines and organise the team's workflow
  • Monitor productivity, coach, and train new staff
  • Keep to sales and wage budgets
  • Handle complaints and resolve problems
  • Maintain timekeeping and rosters, and pass information between management and staff
  • Daily opening and closing
  • Rental set-up, boot and clothing fitting, and fleet maintenance
  • Retail sales and cash/credit processing
  • Support NBS operations, guest enquiries and local information

Requirements

  • English
  • At least moderate ski or snowboard ability (it relates directly to product knowledge)
  • An International Driving Permit (held or obtainable)
  • A Working Holiday Visa (held or eligible), or eligibility for a sponsored work visa

Nice to have

  • Previous work in a snow rental store
  • Retail sales experience, ideally in snow sports
  • Rental systems such as Easy Rent, In-Touch, Sports Rental or RTP
  • Current binding certification
  • Japanese/Chinese/English bilingual
  • Face-to-face customer service and travel/tourism experience
